In Campiello dei Meloni, in the San Polo quarter (the smallest, most centrally-located of Venice) Casa Tanzi offers the Bisanzio, Ambra, Corallo and Smeraldo vacation apartments. It is very centrally located: a little more than 5 minutes on foot from the Rialto Bridge and a 10-minute walk from Saint Mark's Square, they are also 3 minutes from the San Silvestro vaporetto stop where you can take line 1 that runs the entire length of the splendid Grand Canal. In the lively area around the apartments, Venice offers some of its most characteristic corners and important monuments of Venetian art and history. At the feet of the Rialto Bridge, you will find the colorful fruit and vegetable market and, a stone's throw away on the Grand Canal, the Pescheria, which is famous for its fresh seafood from the sea and lagoon that is offered in so bacari (typical Venetian inns) and restaurants in cicheti (tasty snacks) and delicious dishes. In an 8-minute walk, you will reach the Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, in Venice second only to San Marco in historical importance and the works of art preserved (the Assunta [Assumption of the Virgin] and the Pala Pesaro by the great Titian).
Casa Tanzi's Guardi and Misericordia e vacation apartments are in the Cannaregio quarter, overlooking, respectively, the Fondamenta Nuove and Fondamenta della Misericordia, two of the most typical locations in Venice. A quiet area, off the beaten path, Cannaregio preserves the Venetian character of the neighborhood markets of the Strada Nova, the long promenade that reaches the Rialto, the small churches, authentic jewels of art and faith such as the Madonna dell'Orto and the Chiesa dei Miracoli, and the artisan's workshops and typical small stores. From the Fondamenta Nuove, the spectacular view of the lagoon is truly breathtaking. This is where the motorboats and vaporetti arrive from, and depart for, the airport and the splendid islands of the Venetian lagoon, Murano, Burano and Torcello.
The Redentore apartment is on the Giudecca, Venice's large island separated by the canal of the same name, once a working-class area and today one of the most fashionable area due to the VIPs that have bought houses here, because it is quiet and far from the hordes of tourists that are always crowding the town center, and the artists who have found the perfect workshops for creating new trends. The Giudecca's atmosphere is unique: quiet, Venetian and, with the splendid Chiesa del Redentore, a masterful work by Palladio, just 3 minutes from the Casa Tanzi's vacation apartment. From here, there a marvelous view of the Zattere and Saint Mark's Square, which can be reached in 7 minutes by vaporetto.
By plane
From Venice's Marco Polo Airport (13 km) and Treviso's San Giuseppe Airport (30 km) take the shuttle to Venezia – Piazzale Roma (the bus and car terminal). From here, take the vaporetto indicated in the information sheet for the selected apartment.
By train
Venice's Santa Lucia train station is in the historic heart of the city. From here, take the vaporetto indicated in the information sheet for the selected apartment.
By car
From the tollways, after passing through the tollbooth, continue on the "tangenziale" (beltway) and follow the signs to Venezia until you come to Piazzale Roma, the bus and car terminal. Park your car in one of the garages and take the vaporetto indicated in the information sheet for the selected apartment.
